Tributes to Paul Walker, the 40-year-old star of the Fast & Furious movie franchise who was killed in a car crash on 30 November, have reached the Beach Boulevard Retail Park in Aberdeen. Aston Martin today announced a deal with Italian private equity fund Investindustrial, securing a £150m investment to own a 37.5% stake in the business. Aston Martin hopes this should secure the long-term future of the beloved but hitherto financially wobbly sports car maker. BAIC are planning to produce the old Saab 9-5 in China
It would seem that there is a use for it – not just scrap value. BAIC (Beijing Automotive Industry Corporation), which recently acquired a small stake in Saab and where there are high hopes of some good Saab sales in China, wants to buy up the old 9-5 tooling. And move it lock, stock and barrel to Beijing.
